There's No Place Like Home

So i have been a little to busy to write in my blog but most of you that read this probably lurk the crap out of my facebook so.. you already know the Mexico trip was more than amazing ... enough said <3

Being back home in my old house has probably been the best gift in the world im so happy to finally be out of sucking town provo utah. Even though i met really nice people and got a amazing education North Carolina is where my heart is.
Theres no place i rather be. Most of my friends from high school are off at college away from greensboro but thats ok because im happy to see my friends are out becoming someone.
As for my church friends most of them are here and things are the same as always.. i dont like change so coming back to what i new was very comforting.
I have a new addition to the family her name is KESHA and she is the cutest tea cup puddle anyone has ever seen in their life.
Photobucket
she is perfect <3

As for me getting a job due to liscensing in the state of north carolina my cosmetology liscense will take up to 2 months to file and after that then i can get a salon job. unfortuntaly right now i am un employed due to that situation but im sure my liscense will go through and ill be up and running in no time

so as for now i do hair out of my house so come visit me

only 21 more days in utah!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

so let me update yall.

i took my state boards august 11th. Just so you guys know... state boards suck... especially for cosmetology/ barbering. Its just really hard.... but..
Thanks to long hours studying and practicing and lots of prayers from family and friends i was able to pass on the first try :]
i am currently waiting to take my 2000 written exam to get my license.
As most of you know by now... i had a plan to go teach elementary school english in mexico for a few months. I already have my plain ticket for September 20th 2010 but i got a call from the Regis salon in four seasons mall in greensboro norht carolina. Its a really nice salon with good pay and continuing education. so my life has once again flipped upside down and now i have a very important decision to make in just a few weeks to either leave my plain ticket.. take it.. or buy another one for NC

Right now due to my life being extremely crazy... i have decided to take my plain to mexico visit some family for a week and buy another plain ticket from there to go back home and make it on time for my interview.

I dont know how things will turn out.. but i do know that if i follow the guidance of the lord, i will be where i need to be.

Even though i am 2 months late from my original graduation date (july) haha. Things happen for a reason and i dont take anything back.

See you all in October!

1500 HOURS!!!!!

Some of you dont know this but in just one week i am eligible to be a licenced cosmetologist in the state of north carolina!!
AH i feel so happy to know i did it!!!!! and recently everything has been so stressful, with finals, work sheets, theory tests and theory hours. but finally i made it to a state requirement

most of you guys are like... what? well... every state has certain requirements for any career Field involving people like teachers, doctors, dentist, message therapists, etc.. they all have to have licences in that feild.
North Carolina only requires 1500 hours to complete the cosmetology program.

Utah on the other hand is one of the only states that requires an extreme amount of hours... 2000...
finally in 2 and a half months i will be done with my state board exams as well as my whole program..

finally graduation is just around the corner and i am BEYOND excited. Not only to make money haha but to start building my future.

im so excited!
i have found a few salons in north carolina that i am interested in.
but due to me being a poor college student and needing to save up money to go college in fall semester of 2010 and my trip to hawaii soon i have been thinking of moving in with my family in miami where salons pay alot more than any salon in NC and also i get to live for free :]

so i still have a few more things to figure out...
but i know the lord will guide on where i need to be.

:]

AHEM attention i just GRADUATED!

So, let me recap high school for all you lovely readers.

Freshman year
Best year of high school hands down, going to shows at 12am staying out till 4am, hanging out with bands, warped tour for free ;] holllaaa!, skipping school to sleep in, jumping over fences, SCABS, trowing random parties, skipping 2nd period to go to gabbys house then getting caught by Mr. Blackmon, getting detention with gabby and being silly at lunch was the best, having my best friend sara nobel move in with me, having my other best friend vivian move in with me, saturday school and getting kicked out, sleeping in algebra yet passing all my test, and BSing summer school, sneaking out to go walk around the lake and have heart to heart talks, painting the wall with SCABS written all over it, :] never will it be forgotten.
Missing 90 days of school... when theres only 180 days in the school year. Yet passing all my classes (which where Honors) with flying colors was even better. :D

Sophomore year
Getting my life back together and stop being so silly. or as my family likes to call it (being the black sheep) lol.
Guitar class with Mr, chames hahahahahha( i am really sorry we made your life hell for a semester.. i hope you found a better job :p) getting hair extensions put in during class, hahah dance 2, Cheer Extreme, hahah "history club", saturday school and not getting kicked out WOHOO! haha, and Being seminary president. :] waking up at 6 am everyday was no easy task. But it was done :]

Junior year/ Senior year
moving to utah and attending a new high school TIMAPNOGOS HIGH SCHOOL. Home of the timber wolves.. (gay gay gay... and i thought "cowboys" was ridiculous hahah) Having seminary at 12pm and just walking to the church building hahaha, doing high school at day and night time. (thats right utah has night high school its freaking awesome!) going to colorado with FFA, going to salt lake over night with FBLA, going to salt lake with FFA over night being a member of DECA, FBLA(future business leaders of america)FFA, fashion club and spanish club, winning second place at regional for Emerging business issues, winning 1st place at State for emerging business issues, being historian in both FFA and FBLA. Taking BYU classes and UVU classes and finally finishing my credits in late May in that year. Getting a scholarship to beauty school and not having to go back to high school :]

Senior year/ Paul Mitchell
Getting a scholarship for cosmetology school. Graduating August 31st being a licences cosmetologist with 2000 hours (state or north Carolina only requires 1500) due to having my credits turned in late may i was not able to walk with the class of 09' but was given an option of walking with my original dated class of 10' so after giving it alot of thought and even though none of my family members would be here to watch my graduation ceremony i decided to walk with them anyway.. i mean it only happens once right?

hahahhaha so this for all you idiot people who said i got a GED andddd said i was such a "bad kid", called my parental unit in freshman and sophomore year telling her i was skipping school too much and having crazy parties (which i guess was partly true hehe.. hahah) and being this and that.... i wish i could laugh in your face.. unfortunately im too busy finishing up my career and applying for winter semester in college ;]

so let me just say two words... SUCK IT!!!!!!

even though everyone has a rough patch, this just goes to show it is not your place to judge ANYONE. I have a really high GPA, finished a year early and is a great person in society (after freshman year lol hahahha. that is... lol) helping other organizations at school become better. All of this wasn't easy.. i worked my ASS off all those years. And even though i was a little crazy who isn't? i was just happen to be more out there about.. Because guess what your kids had a rough patch as well.. but they did it behind your back ;] so.. what did we learn today? mind your own business and take care of your own damn kids!

i do want to thank all of my family and friends who helped me through all of this. fist of my mom.. she worked so hard to be able to pay for cheerleading, all my field trips with FFA, FBLA and DECA, helping me with spanish projects and running to the store at 5 am to get food so i can give out at seminary. Talking to teachers after getting in trouble :P hahah. Talking to parents and letting them know im awesome and to mind their own business. hahah My dad for paying my tuition in high school (yeah utah is retarded and makes you pay to go to a public school), paying for destroyed/ lost text books... idk how it happened but whatever. and paying tuition at Paul Mitchell which was not cheap at all.. even though my scholarship helped a little. My sister Xanny for working all the tuition stuff out. my sister priscilla for doing my spanish homework.. and giving me rides everywhere. and of course my friends jordan, gabby, jenifer, melissa, and everyone else who helped me. you guys are the best! <3

For the Future

I plan on finishing beauty school. Moving back home for a few months.. Going to school part time and getting my Instructors licence to be a cosmetology teacher. After that work as a instructor at a beauty school and go to school and work on getting a business degree. Maybe open a salon.. or a Beauty school of my very own. If the opportunity arrives work on tv doing hair and make up maybe..
So much more ahead of me. I couldnt be happier on the way things turned out. I have worked very hard to be were i am at right now. and i will continue to work as hard as i need to.. to accomplish the things that i want to accomplish.

I love my career as a hair dresser. I wake up every morning excited to make another persons day as amazing as it should be. Making people feel beautiful inside and out. Meeting people from different cultures, backgrounds, hearing their stories and having their trust.

Theres nothing i would rather do!

oh and one last thing.. for those of you who said that i think im better than everyone else... um.. i wouldnt say.. that... but i am pretty amazing. IIIIId say ;]
hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahhahahahhaha!!!!!!

(if you found my blog offensive you are more than welcome to never look at it again. Thank you)

INTERN ? yep..

Everyone has got to start out somewhere right?
So im at 1200 hours into school... iv been slacking i know.. but when you live in a state you hate. Your girl friends either take a leave or graduate... and you are left with only your sister in the suckiest state.. you start to get maybe just a little bit depressed.. haha. But its all good. Im looking at being done somewhere around august or september.

So this make up artist came to school to give a presentation.. Shes done make up for the film high school musical and other cool stuff.
i decided to talk to her after class. Turns out she was in need of an assistant.
There was a hair show coming that weekend so i decided to take up on the offer... even though i had to wake up on sunday and monday at 5am to get ready and be in SLC at 7am. i mean at least i get into the 2 day hair show for free.. (its about 60 bucks a day)
So friday night i went to her place to get some training. and our gig was sunday and monday.
Even though my job isnt glamorous.. all i do is help any of the artist that need help. Finding little eye shadows in boxes full of them.. ugh.. its ok i got to play with seriously over 200 eye shadows, clean brushes after every model. run errands and apply face primer and foundation, so the artists can work on conture, blush and eyes.

Its actually really fun i learn so much and get to network with alot of GREAT stylist in the industry. and im getting a WONDERFUL letter of recommendation by retro hair, to put in my cute little portfolio :]

i got to see Ben from shear genius work on stage!!!

if you dont know who he is. He is the straight hair dresser with gauges and tattoos. He is a real funny guy. and he knows his stuff.

i also got a bit of hands on training for the beaded in extension method.
i learned more about fusion but i still gotta get some hands on to really grasp the concept.

But just to give you an idea. A regular service for a beaded in strand by strand hair extension is $800 and up!!! and can be done in less than 4 hours!

Most of you lovely friends ask me.. well who gets that done... and while i laugh at you... more people have hair extensions than you know... there so natural now a days you dont know if a girl has REAL hair or just hair extensions haha.
so to answer your question lots of people get hair extensions.

im just really excited for this great opportunity.. who knows who i could meet.. iv never liked the west coast.. but getting paid bank and living in california.. away from all the drama of the east... doesnt sound too bad actually..

so whats the next step?
well im going to continue my assisting with my lovely make up artist.. and looking into getting my foot in the door with the Lunatic Fringe salon.
Ill have to start out as in assistant as well.. but im ok with that. you gotta work your way up.
http://www.lunaticfringesalon.com/gallery.html

this salon charges $75 a hair cut!

haha id be down for getting paid that every hour :D

so thats the update on my adventures right now.. hopefully i can get some pictures soon.

PANDORA = <3

Kalai radio= more<3

;]

you guys are welcome to listen. Its amazing!

so life so far has been hectic.. but thats no surprise. I woke up this morning got ready for school and i walk outside and it is the nicest weather!!! after being under 50s and having snow storms in march and beginning of april i was soooooo ready for spring to be here.
and today... it decided to show up :]
im so happy!! coming from living in California then Miami Florida then Cancun mexico... this chick NEEDS her sunshine!!
and today i got a bit of it :] we had a little field trip at school and we went around town taking pictures of different shapes. and how we can look at it and think of different haircuts that are created by their structure. It was fun.
then since we had extra time we came home and watched "how i met your mother" its pretty hilarious.

im really excited for it to get really hot so i can lay out! but unfortunately this state doesnt have a beach... sooooooo that means i will have to make a quick trip to miami to visit my brother.... and his new baby... James Dean Marrufo (its true people i picked the name!)... for my birthday.. and go to orlando...hahaha.
and might i add im pretty stoked for it.. and getting my cute little ukulele.. i might just bring it with me and play it on the beach. :]

bad news is school never seems to end..so as all of you know i should be finishing school in august.. but that means i have to be stuck in the salon alll freaking summer... monday through saturday! and while all the little byu kids finish there semester and go and have fun i will be cutting and coloring peoples hair alllll day.. but i cant complain when im there i love it... but i do wish i didn't have to go to school during the summer.
Summer term in utah is actually not as bad as the rest of the year. everyone is out having fun.
they have like dance party's at this water park called seven peaks. Its actually really fun minus the creep guys trying to talk/dance with you ew.
but besides that you meet alot of other really cool people. and its always fun to go out dancing once in a while. especially if you add water slides to it!

As for other things in life.. i really miss my family. i miss my little anti and erick so much. hahah they always know how to make me laugh when im not having a good day.

and everything else.. well im not sure where things are going but what i do know is its up to me to make the best out of it. so it will be done.
so i leave you guys with the story of my life and one of my favorite songs.
once again thanks pandora.. the main radio might be just as good as the kalai radio..
:]

general conference 2010

so since i had school on Saturdays like i always do.. today sunday i watched all four sessions of it in a row.
it was great!!

recently i have been going through some trouble with people i care about deeply. Not knowing how to fix things or make them better is the worst feeling in the world.

It amazing how the lord works sometimes. Little by little i have been trying to just stop being so proud and put all my trust in him, Saturdays afternoon session.. slapped me in the face with the spirit haha,

a few of my favorite talks were by
Sister Julie B. Beck: 'The Lord will pour out his spirit upon his handmaids'
Elder Wilford W. Andersen: 'The rock of our Redeemer'
Elder M. Russell Ballard: 'Mothers and daughters'
President Dieter F. Uchtdorf: 'you are my hands'

even though all of conference was great those were the talks that struck me the most.

dear john,

i watched that movie last night with my lovely girl friends karyn and melissa.
It was a good night. :]
definitely took my mind off things.

so i thought id share some quotes of the movie that i absolutely loved.

"I don't know that love changes. People change. Circumstances change."
— Nicholas Sparks

"The problem with time, whether it was the first 2 weeks we had together, or the last two months I had with Tim, eventually time always runs out."

Dear John Pictures, Images and Photos

the movie was great.. i have to admit i did cry a little.. haha ok i cried alot but anyway. it was really good.

but lets be honest here the only reason i really went to go watch it was so see mr. Tatum... danngg

The office..

the Office Pictures, Images and Photos

hahah due to college life and me and priscilla being to poor to afford cable i got netflix!!! its only 9 dollars a month and i swear its the best thing since redbox! hahaha i love it! i watch degrassi and i can order church movies like errand of angels which by the way made me cry. I think serving a mission would be way awesome! i love going to temple square and just look at the temple and oh! the sister missionary are all so sweet. I look up to them alot.. anyway hahha thats not what this post is about..

Back to netflix and how amazing it is. I have been watching all the seasons of The office and i think its probably the most hilarious show on TV

well hello there blogspot! haha

I haven't written in this for a while..
well let me update you all on my life :]

Besides the fact that I'm in love with the Polynesian culture and i wish i was part Hawaiian or Samoan.. (is that weird?... oh well.. ) I'm Learning how to play the ukulele!! <3>
Im really excited i started out with breakdown by jack Johnson.
My cutting teacher is from Hawaii and hes way cool
.. so iv been thinking alot about working at a salon/spa in a resort in Hawaii!!! wouldn't that be awesome? iv been wanting to go to Hawaii since i can remember! and having the opportunity or living there for a couple of months would be my DREAM <3>
So moving on... since working at a resort would probably take up most of my day i thought about going to the local community college in hawaii while i save enough to possibly attend byu h ... but my plan was crushed as i thought about how important it is for me to return home.. oh well.. maybe in a few months or couple of years i may peruse my dream of living in hawaii..

I am such a firm beliver in fate. I know things happen for a reason and if you consult the lord in all your decisions made in life he will guide you to what is best... or at least it will be in the long run :]
but so far everything is good, me and priscilla are actually looking for a roomate so if any of you know of anyone that wants a privet room for summer/spring semester let me know its real cheap and its very nice.

on to another story. iv been working out everyday for 2 hours!!!! yep.. hard to believe but its true. it makes me alot happier and i fell accomplished.. hehe...plus it makes me feel good when girls from school tell me i look skinnier :D so summer I'm ready for ya!!! Even though i do wish i had my golds membership back so i could go to Zumba and kickboxing class.. dang i loved that mess!

Over all for the most part everything had been pretty good.. only 5 more months till i go home... gah i cant wait! Also my BFFie is coming to live with me for the summer.. ANNITA! hahah I'm super excited to have her spend time with me and show her how this whole college life works!
Im also pretty excited that the boyfriend gets to come visit for my birthday and my mom is buying me my own ukulele!!! finallyyyyyyyy
things are good..

music = love

so in school unless we have clients we basically just sit around and work on our doll heads to finish our work sheets for the month.. so i usually take my ipod just to make the time go by faster.
So recently i have been in love with a few people and thought i should share them with you. Since well... they are amazing

1.John Mayer... that man makes my heart skip beats.. on the real.

GOOD NEWS!!!!

I'm going home!!!!!
well for a few days that is. I will be going on the 27th and leaving back to Utah on the 7th and the Vegas on the 9th :D
so everything has been more than wonderful! and i couldn't be anymore grateful.

so as of this week iv gotten nothing but male hair cuts at school (thank you front desk i already know you hate me!!!! no need in showing it!)
i love color and makeup of course but when it comes to male haircuts it is my weak point. Im not very good at them... and quite honestly going to school almost in BYU campus and having a bunch of awkward 21 year old boys coming in, differently doesn't help.. but its ok because today i was able to get over my fear!!!! and did an amazing haircut and needless to say i am no longer scared!!
alright here's the story (before Priscilla trys to embarrass me and tell it to the world)
when i first started school i had done about 3 male haircuts all looking wonderful.. one day this guy with MADDDD cowlicks comes in for a "trim" i start working on him when i notice in the mirror one side was a bit shorter than the other so i turn him not facing the mirror and start trying to fix it... bad idea... next thing i know he got... well alot more than a trim thats for sure... hahaha and everything super uneven i turn him around to face the mirror... and his face was horrified... hahha i felt so embarrassed and ran to get my learning leader in the office... i was almost in tears... he was super upset when he left and.. it hurt my confidence reallll bad. ever since then iv always been scared of male haircuts and honestly mens hair is alot harder then womens... just because you can see EVERYTHING! weird thing about it though i can cut my nephews hair my guy friends hair and even anna shoemakers dads hair and look just fine! except in the salon... i have no idea why.
but yep there's my story.

NEW hair color!!!!

so ever since i came back to Utah i have been really bored with my self. i had been wanting a red like the girl from paramore
hayleyParamore Pictures, Images and Photos
with the whole red and different blonds but i was told it was too extreme. And i found out i cant go in the temple with crazy hair!! huh i learn something new everyday huh...

and yesterday we had a class with Dave Holland which is an amazing hairstylist and owner of lunatic fringe salon
you guys can check out his web site he is pure amazing!!!! http://www.lunaticfringesalon.com/
(besides the fact that he is a verrrry attractive 37 year old man... and all the girls can agree with me on this one.. well the ones who know him at least) i found out he served a mission in Miami Florida!! Spanish speaking!! crazy huh?? and he served in one of my old wards!!! crazy how small this world is.
anyyywayyy he taught a very interesting class on how some hairstylist can be very sloppy here in the united states and how other places in the world look at the American culture as lazy and sloppy. Can you guys believe that in japan i believe he said you have to go to hair school for 5 YEARS!!!!!!!!!!!!!! to even get a license!!!!!! and in Europe you would go a year in school with out even touching scissors!! its crazy how other country's believe in such strict rules.. haha and im sure those people have lots of respect for stylists.

Anyway back to my hair story.. iv been taking it one step at a time.. and since i will have no one to impress and school will have my soul from 830am to 7pm till may2010 and then from may to june it will have my soul from 1pm to 10pm and then for the whole month of july it will have my soul from 830am to 10pm... (yeah not even kidding...) i decided why not do something exciting i ink worked my hair dark red with some teal streaks.. the streaks didnt show up because when i washed my hair the red ink mixed with the blue turning it a little purple so it blends in.
Photobucket
the next day at school i decided it was time for at least a little bit of a change i cut my bangs along with a few more layers and this was the result
Photobucket
like ???????

iv been wanting to cut it short for a while as well but.... i dont think that will happen anyyy time soon. Im too scared to cut my long locks. Which im sure most of you lovely long haired ladies would understand.
ill still put a little more fun colors in it but when may rolls around it will probably go back to a natural brown :]

hm... tuesday

Alright so today has been a very busy day.
I learned all about the stock market........ yeah.... not into it. hahahah.
bad news is i forgot today were the design team interviews... so i didnt make it to mine. So no sundance film festival for me :/ ehh its ok though im sure other stuff will come along.

Creative interviews are tomorrow and im hoping i move up!!! this would be very very very cool.
Let me explain.. at school we have these things called Core, which is when you first start out beauty school your stuck in a classroom for 7 hours 5 days a week for 6 weeks!!! it sucks and your brain feels like its melting off by the end of the day. seriously. then there is a thing called protege where you basically sit and work on your doll head all day and shadow the girls on the floor, so you wash clients hair and maybe blow dry it when there all done. Then there a thing called Adaptive where you are on the floor working on clients from 9am to 1pm then class from 130 to 430. so you become like a junior per say.. then there a thing called CREATIVE! where you go to class from 9am to 1pm and you learn soooo many amazing things because your more advanced. and you get more clients in the afternoon. then last there is a thing called phase 2 its like as legit as you can get in hair school. its only for the honor students and its this cute little salon where you get to work at. The point is as the higher you get the harder it gets and the more work you have to do. But im down for that. Tomorrow i have my creative interview and im hoping i move up! wish me luck!

Now on to more important things... Im super stoked for my brother and his kids to be sealed in the washington D.C temple!!!! it happens to be one of my favorites <3
Washington D.C. Temple Pictures, Images and Photos
i wish i could go.. but thanks to spending all my money in NC and now the Vegas trip... i cant go.. but its ok :]

I was able to see my boys on skype! i was soo excited! i cant explain. I miss them so much and it makes me happy when i get to hear from them and see that their having fun.

Priscilla says blogs are for utah people....

Sooooo.. truth is.. well iv always secretly wanted a blog.. :] hahaha.. and even though my sister says she has lost all respect for me for giving into having a blog.. she says its such a utah thing to do hahah i thought it was funny.. because lets be honest.. its true but.. iv wanted one for a while so too bad, and plus
Family and friends are so far away and sometimes it gets hard trying to update everyone on whats going on.

Now i must apologize to all those that made an effort to try and see me while i was in north carolina.. I got a bit busy and honestly it was a trip made just to see family. So i apologize, but i love all of you and YES!! it is true i will be moving back home once i finish school and im very excited about it! so im sure i will be seeing yall soon.

VEGAS!!!
now in regards to my facebook status about vegas! My beauty school does this thing called caper every year. Where the top celebrity hairstylist give us HANDS ON TRAINING!!! and we hear motivational speaking and all that jazz and we have party's ( well duhhhh its LAS FREAKING VEGAS!! ) i would put a video up so yall can see how AMAZING this experience will be.
But im still figuring out the whole blog spot thing and dont know how to post videos.. or pictures... or paste something on here... idk why but it wont let me haha.
Here is a link if you guys wanna check out what caper is. It's February 9th and we are staying at the Cesar's palace. Now the reason this is such a big deal is because this little trip is worth $1,200 and the only people go get to go are the people who sell 35 shampoo bags each one worth $30
so i want to thank all of you that stopped by the salon and bought one! it means alot to me and im very grateful to have such amazing friends that would spend 30 dollars on shampoo and i know all of us that live here in Provo are college students with very little money. so thank you very much <3

But in closing everything has been coming together and i am so very grateful.. i know that by doing the things we are suppose to and putting the gospel and other important church duties first all of this has become possible and like i said words cant even being to explain how grateful i am.
